Michael Jr. and some food for thought!
I was watching some Michael Jr. comedy tonight and something stood out and spoke to me. For those unaware Michael Jr. is a Christian Comedian and all his jokes have to be clean enough for church, but at the same time, funny enough for a club. He was doing comedy at a church and then we told everyone a story. He was up early one morning writing jokes and the word 'House' came to him and he told everyone his vision and it goes as below.
It's as if we're all a house and outside of the house is Jesus and he wants to come in but he will never force his way in the house. He wants you to invite him in the house and a lot of people are ok with having Jesus outside the house because then all you got to do is open the door, cracked a little bit and tell him what you want. Then you close the door and go on with your business but he wants to come in the house and one of the main reasons you will not let him in the house is because your house is a mess. You think you gotta clean it up first. You've been tryin all this time to clean it up and its still a mess and he knew it was going to be a mess before you messed it up and you're still trying to clean it up and in fact he's the only one who can clean it up. He is standing outside the door right now wearing an apron and carrying a bucket in his hand... Wait No, you didn't invite him in. Right now some of you used to have Jesus in the entire house but for some reason or another you decided to evict him completely or you just moved him into one area of the house... that one room. Its the good room and often that room is right up the front, with the big windows so when people walk by and they think "wow that house is clean, they got Jesus" but Jesus doesn't have them. He's only in that one room and the rest of the house is still a mess.
What a perfect image right there. Jesus wants us to open the door and let Him in, but perhaps we are that person who only opens the door to Him when we need something from Him. Jesus wants to live in our house and be with us. So what are you going to do... are you going to let Him in or are you going to only answer the knock at the door, when you need help?
Some food for thought there for you all. I definitely had to think hard and was challenged by it. I pray you too are stirred and challenged by it.
God bless,
Andrew
Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory
